THRUST MARITIME

Sea State Explorer

Historical sea state by location

85 named offshore working areas, grouped by region. Each page gives the percentage of time significant wave height exceeds 1 to 4 m by calendar month, the mean wave height, wind and weather windows where the data carries them, the data point used, and a citation line. The figure beside each name is the share of the year with significant wave height above 2 m.

Data basis: WAVERYS wave reanalysis (Copernicus Marine) + ERA5 wind, 1980-2023, 3 hourly, 0.2° grid, nearest cell to each named position. For any other point use the explorer; how the numbers are made is in the How it works.
